These are the two main ideas i would like to use for my magazine poster/advert, as they are very simple with a picture of the artist covering the whole surface with either lyrics or quotes by the artist. I think i will have a picture of either the artist or a a person, and use some of the lyrics which have meaning this wil hopefully tie the picture abnd the lyrics together.

new cast list for 'beat it'

Mike Davies - Mike will be playing the part of the main singer in the music video. He is the main focus in the music video as he is the one who performs the most. He also plays the guitar at some points within the video. Mike will also be taking part in the shots of the band setting up and preparing for the live performance.

Danny Evans - Danny mainly plays the guitar within the video but also has a part in the chorus of singing the main words along with Mike 'beat it'. Danny will also be taking part in the shots of the band setting up and preparing for the live performance.

Otis Holmes - Otis is the drummer in the band and plays a large part in the preformance. Otis will also be taking part in the shots of the band setting up and preparing for the live performance.Towards the end of the video it will show the final lead up to the live preformance so there will be a shot of an audience of people waiting for them to come on stage.

ideas for new music video

the idea for our new music video is it will be set in a grimey backstage area wth band performing the song warming up for a live song, the whole video however will not jusat be of the band perfroming the song there will also be shots of them relaxing and setting up the stage gear, this will show what really happens backstage before a live performance. the way we will shoot it is we will film the band miming to a backround track of the song then we will edit the real song onto the video and line up the miming with the real song.
the main message of the video is to show that to become a rockstar you have to start somewhere thats why we filmed it on a grimey location to show that its not all money and spotlights it shows the harsh reality of the music industry.

song change

we did originally have the song 'mad world' by gary jules but as we started filming we realised it wasnt coming together as good as we originally thought, so we have come to a decision to change the song to 'beat it' by micheal jackson. we thought this would be easier to film as there is a band we have acess to and they will be able to mime the song which will make the video look alot more professional.

The genre of the new song is still along the lines of mad world with rock but it is a bit more up tempo and is about defeat ansd courage, it is also not as dark as mad world which is about the world and what is going on in the world, the song beat however is alot more racy and it gets you going as soon as you hear the first beats of the track.
our target audience for our song will have to stay the same from our previous song as alot of teenagers nowadays liten to aged music like micheal jackson.

magazine adverts

these two magazine digipak adverts are what i will be aiming mine to look like as it has the band name as the main focal point and it gives reviews and info about the cd release and info about the songs. i also like how there isnt a picture used in either of these adverts as just an album cover is used on one and the other is just the iconic stone roses symbol which is powerful enough as the stone roses are a founding band in the music industry as they have influenced the likes of oasis and the verve.

these are a few digipak ideas that i might follow when i create my digipak, i like the way the desert rose cd digipak is set out with the two picture panels and the cd in the middle, i think this is the digipak i will imitate as our song will only have the one cd.
